Olympus Stylus 1030SW Review

July 15th, 2008 · Comments Off

Most cameras have built-in memory these days, and that includes the Stylus 1030SW. It has 14.7MB of onboard memory, and if that doesn’t sound like much, you’re right — it holds just three photos at the highest quality setting. Thus, you’ll want to buy a memory card right away, and I’d suggest a 2GB card […]

March 28th, 2008 · Comments Off

This is a 10 megapixel camera with a 37-260mm (film equivalent) lens. The attractive case is rugged and overall face area is slightly larger than a credit card. It fits into a pocket. There is no optical viewfinder and the LCD screen, while of excellent resolution, is useless in bright sunlight.

The Olympus FE-340 is an 8 megapixel digital camera with a 5x optical zoom lens. It is small enough to slip into a pocket. In terms of both design and features the FE-340 is a simple, unfussy camera. It offers a bit of extra zoom power when compared to typical pocket cameras.

OLYMPUS STYLUS 790SW Review

March 21st, 2008 · Comments Off

Point-and-shoot digital camera makers make many claims about their products, but few boast about the toughness of their snappers as Olympus does about its 7.1 megapixel Stylus 790SW . What sets this byteshooter apart from others in its class is its "take me into harm’s way" attitude.

Olympus E 3 DSLR Review

March 21st, 2008 · Comments Off

Four years ago, Olympus kicked off the 4/3rds concept in the form of the E-1, a five megapixel DSLR aimed squarely at the pro and high-end user. Four years is a lot of time in the world of DSLR, so what has happened during that time to make the new flagship Olympus E-3 DSLR a […]

Olympus FE-290 Review

It is an accepted fact that technological gadgets such as computers, music players and of course cameras get smaller, cheaper and more feature-packed as time goes by. This year’s cameras will have more powerful sensors, better lenses, faster performance and more features, while costing less to buy than last year’s models.

Olympus mju 830 Review

January 18th, 2008 · Comments Off

Back in September last year I reviewed the Olympus mju 760 and mju 780, a pair of 7.1-megapixel cameras which at the time represented the bottom and middle of the Olympus’ premium range of weatherproof pocket compacts. While both of these cameras are still just about available, the top of the range is now covered […]

Olympus mju 780 Review

September 12th, 2007 · Comments Off

Having been fairly impressed by the entry-level Olympus FE-250 last week, today I’m taking a look at a mid-level camera from the company’s premium compact range, in the shape of the mju 780 (known as the Stylus 780 in the US). Launched in March this year at the same time as the E-410 and E-510 […]
