Fujifilm J50 Review

March 26th, 2008 · Comments Off

The Finepix J50 is one of two new models in a completely new lineup of beginner-friendly cameras from Fujifilm. First debuted at the PMA show back in January, the J50 represents an attempt to put the style back into affordable, closely resembling the more expensive and well-regarded F-series cameras.

Fujifilm A920 Review

January 28th, 2008 · Comments Off

Fujifilm’s A-series of plastic-bodied, AA-powered compacts is quite possibly the longest-running camera range of them all, with the first model in the line, the 1.2-megapixel FinePix A101, appearing as long ago as 2001. Over the past seven years the A-series has had its ups and downs, with some very good models and one or two […]

Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd Review

October 31st, 2007 · Comments Off

I have to admit I’ve been curious about the S8000fd myself. It’s the new flagship of Fuji’s super-zoom cameras, heading a range that includes the S6500fd, S5700, S5600 and the S5800 which I have yet to review. Anything that can exceed the capabilities of such an extremely impressive range of cameras has to be something […]

Fujifilm S5 Pro Review

May 1st, 2007 · Comments Off

…the S5 Pro is here at last. Like the S3 Pro it’s a high-end camera aimed at professional portrait and wedding photographers, and at around £980 body only it is priced to match. Compared with the body-only prices for the Nikon D200 (£814), Canon EOS 30D (£700), Pentax K10D (£630) or Sony Alpha A100 (£379) […]

Review: FujiFilm FinePix S9600

April 28th, 2007 · Comments Off

Since some time, Fujifilm has two Megazoom cameras in its program. One, the FinePix S6500fd, has been produced to target the average consumer. The other, the Fujifilm FinePix S9600, has been intended for the more serious photographer and offers, for that reason, other possibilities than the FinePix S6500fd. The Fujifilm S9600 succeeds the FinePix S9500. […]

Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd Review

In design as well as décor the Z5fd is born for the clubbing lifestyle. Measuring a trim 92.8 X 55 X 19.4mm and weighing only 148g it’s small and light enough to qualify as ultra-compact, and will slip unobtrusively into a handbag or shirt pocket. When not in use the lens is protected by a […]

Review: FujiFilm FinePix S6500fd

April 4th, 2007 · Comments Off

One thing became very clear with Fujifilm, at the Photokina 2006: face detection is going to be it! And the technique is ready to be built in cameras standard. With this, Fujifilm can fall back on their extensive knowledge of minilabs. There, the technique has been used for years, among other things, to be able […]

Fujifilm FinePix F31fd Review

March 23rd, 2007 · Comments Off

The standout feature on the F31fd is undoubtedly its face-detection capability. If you’ve ever taken a group shot-or photographed someone in a busy setting-you know that it can be difficult to get your point-and-shoot to focus on the right element. Fujifilm’s technology identifies human faces in a frame (up to ten) and automatically adjusts the […]

Fuji FinePix F30 Review

February 16th, 2007 · Comments Off

The F30 takes around 3 seconds from the time you press the power button until you’re ready to shoot a picture. That’s a bit slow. However, the camera has minimal shutter lag, the time between the time you press the shutter button and a picture is recorded. That’s very important if you take pictures of […]
