Canon Launches Next-Gen DVD Camcorders

September 3rd, 2006 · No Comments

Canon has announced the launch of three second generation DVD (-R/-RW/-R Dual Layer) Canon_DC22.jpgcamcorders.

The 2.2 Megapixel DC19, DC21 and DC22 extend and strengthen Canon’s straight-to-DVD range. Like all Canon DVD camcorders, they are engineered for true 16:9 widescreen recording and incorporate an additional one-touch 4:3 mode.

Designed for enhanced one-handed operation, the DC21 and DC22 feature a 10x optical zoom with Image Stabilizer and Canon’s DIGIC DV processor, providing simultaneous still and video capture. The DC22 has an additional AV input connection, for analogue-to-digital conversion - an easy way to archive older home movies on disc.

“With the DC40, [tag]Canon[/tag] was the first company to bring a 4-Megapixel DVD camcorder to market and now, with these second generation models, we substantially strengthen our mid-range,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. “The three new advanced consumer camcorders combine the convenience of DVD with outstanding image quality and are designed to meet the needs of busy young families.” BIOS: The Quality Tech Guide
